Aesthetic Surgery Of Eyelids

Blepharoplasty is designed individually, according to the needs and particularities of the patient. It can be done in isolation, only in the lower or upper eyelids, or both. Can also be combined with other surgical procedures on eyes, face, eyebrows or nose.

 

Correction of upper eyelid -
* To fix the upper eyelid, draw a zone of skin corresponding to the quantity remaining. The marking is done with the / the patient standing, raising his eyebrows. Keep in mind that drooping eyebrows can only be improved through a forehead lift. –
* After removing the excess skin is removed from the bag of fat. –
* Through the same incision can also remove the muscles responsible for frown lines and used to fill wrinkles .
* The scar is right in the crease, so it is not visible.

Correction of lower eyelid -
For the correction of lower eyelid there are several possibilities .-
* The classic technique involves making an incision just below the tabs, so that the scar is hidden. Here are pockets of fat removed, without removing a lot of skin. This will prevent the skin from this area, very fine, retract, exposing the white of the eye .-
* The transconjunctival technique, the most common and most do, is to remove pockets of fat making a small incision inside the eyelid. Thus there remains no external mark, not the orbicularis muscle is injured, responsible for eyelid closure. Please spare some skin, it can be removed through the classical technique using the laser. –
* Loeb’s technique is applied in cases where there is a marked orbital sulcus (which gives a blue appearance to the eyecup). When this happens, instead of removing the fat, it is placed in front of the orbital rim to fill it. This will mask the dark circles. –

Canthopexy.
Applies when the edge of the eyelid is moved one or two millimeters above procedure. To correct it, can be a point and raising the lower eyelid (canthopexy) or reinsetar lower eyelid to create this effect (canthoplasty external). This procedure allows for a more youthful eyelid and maintain tension to retract and not conducive to “round eye” or scleral show.

Anesthesia and postoperative
* Blepharoplasty can be performed under local anesthesia, local anesthesia plus sedation or general anesthesia. –
* The hematoma resulting from the intervention is greatly reduced if applied after surgery ice over your eyes for a couple of hours. –
